The Great Himalayan range is of a supreme mountain system containing some of the most spectacular scenery to be found on earth. The Great Himalayan Range and the ice bound Karakorum range and the trans Himalayan range are among the world’s youngest mountain. The ancient king Dom of Ladakh is the remotest region of India. It is a high altitude desert area north of Himalaya on the Tibetan plateau. The lowest elevation in all of Ladakh is above 2500m. The Karakoram and Kailash range border of  Ladakh in the north and the east. The Great Himalayan range isolates it from the south, the majority of the countryside is coverd by the Ladakh and  Zanskar mountain range, each crowned with scores of 6100m to 7500m peaks.

When Ladakh was first open to tourism in 1974 an average itinerary encompassed visits to Leh and its environs with some treks into nearby valleys. Know Ladakh is boasts of famous monasteries old Royal castle, many of them being more than 1000 year old. There are many possibilities for trekking exploring the region. You need time for exploring one week to five weeks as per your vocation allowed. Every trek is over 4000m to 5500m.
